New year, new sock yarns

Oh, my poor blog! I can't believe it's been close to a year since I updated. I've been busy, what can I say? I've got my knitting groove back and I've been knitting up lots of things, though I've been slacking on the FO picture-taking. I did finish a pair of simple stockinette socks out of Mountain Colors Bearfoot (my birthday gift from Jennifer). I love how they came out!

I've been adding to my stash since, believe it or not, I've been getting a little low on yarn. Well, on sock yarn, anyway. I was really good during 2009 and knitted almost entirely from stash so I've been rewarding myself by trying out some new sock yarns.

A few weekends ago I purchased some Koigu Painter's Palette Premium Merino with which I'm making the Simple Things Shawlette from Mary-Heather Cogar.

I also ordered two skeins of Three Irish Girls Beckon Sock in Father Time from The Backwards Loop (picture credited to The Backwards Loop). This was a colorway dyed specially for Sock Summit 2009, which Jennifer (my big sister) and I attended, and I remember Jennifer coveting the sample of this yarn. They didn't have it for sale at the time so I thought I'd get a skein for each of us and surprise her with it.
